I was in Berkeley over the weekend. When I was leaving on Sunday morning, I thought that a water main had busted because the streets were flooded. Then I come to find out that it was not a water main break, but a terrential downpour that I somehow missed while holed up in the lab. I was driving through 8 inches of water trying to get out of town! It was crazy. What made the rain “freaky” was that it rained in some places and not in others. I am not talking a distance of 30 miles between places. I am talking distances of 10 miles or less. Like Sacramento flooded, but Davis didn’t even see a drop of rain. But I am thankful because it was about 30-40 degrees cooler yesterday and today! I will have to check out the weather and see how long “they” think it will last.

I missed Winemonkey’s sister’s wedding. She wanted me to make their wedding cake at one point, but I got booted from the baker position when I was going to have to work. =( I am going to get to make a birthday cake for a party on Saturday. The birthday girl loves chocolate, so I was just going to make the flourless chocolate cake that chocolate lovers seem to love. I was also going to make her some soap. Depending on how I feel this week, I might go out and get some crafty supplies to make some more magnets… I love it and it is so addicting! I will have to take some pictures of the ones Porter and I made this weekend.
