When your sister is the best sister ever

Thursday, April 28th, 2005

So this morning my sister sent me an email asking me my bra size. (Which I am not going to share with the internet PERV so just move along if that is what you are hoping for.) And then shortly after that she asked me what kind of digital camera I have. (And that is a Canon S400 Powershot Digital Elph, which I will share with the world because it takes awesome pictures and really is a cool camera because it fits into the pockets of pants, which is AWESOME for those “nights out” where no one remembers what is going on until they look at the awesome pictures you took with your hidden camera.) Both questions came without explanation.

So, like any good scientist, when faced with a question that needs researching, I ask my sister why she is asking me what seems like random questions.

And she said that she was going to be going shopping this weekend and since I always like her bras and I don’t like any of the ones I pick for myself, she was going to pick me up some bras. Now, this is generous on many levels, right? I mean, I hate shopping. So she has removed that pain from the scenario. And I never pick out good bras. So then off that goes from the scenario. And when I offered to reimburse her for said bras, she says to not worry about it.

SHE TOTALLY ROCKS.

(She asked about the camera because her co-worker is looking to buy one and since I like mine so much, she recommended it to her co-worker.)

I got the k1 p1, but what is pu12?

So I am making the kitty hat from the Stich-n-Bitch book and I am ready to put the ears on because I have MASTERED Icording. And I love knitting in the round. But the directions say something like measuring down 3/4 inches from the top and placing the ear a little front of center above the earflap. And then it says, pu12. And yesterday my knitting instructor showed me how to use a crochet needle to pull the loops up through the back of the hat and then put them onto a knitting needle. And so I can get the twelve little loops all in a row (I am assuming that pu 12 means pull 12 loops through), BUT THEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!?! Can anyone tell me? I mean, the yarn is now coming from the inside of the hat, so do I break the yarn and then just follow the pattern on the 12 stiches I have pulled through the hat? If so, what do I do with the ends of the 12 pulled through stitches? Do I tie them down? I just don’t get it.

As you can tell, I am a little obsessed with this knitting thing. I am getting ready to move onto a sweater I think. But I am going to need all of the technical assistance I can get.

My inner nationality…

Your Inner European is Irish!

Sprited and boisterous!

You drink everyone under the table.

Who’s Your Inner European?

I could have seen that coming a mile away! Can’t wait to find the time and money to travel to Ireland.

Sports coat.

So I was standing at this bar, icon, ordering a couple of martinis for my friends and I. I was standing in front of this barstool that had a jacket draped over the back because it was the only open space at the bar. And as I was waiting for our drinkings, the owner of the jacket comes back to his bar stool and he says, “Excuse me, I just want to grab my sports coat.”

Sports coat? What about just coat? What about jacket?

And as I was holding in my little giggle, I said, “No problem. I will be out of your way in a second. You don’t have to move your sports coat.”

Who calls it that? Honestly!

p.s. icon has the best chicken pot pie EVER!
