just your garden variety salad. And it feels good.

So you think that if I don’t make people include their email address that I would get more comments?
Oh. Today I installed 1GB of RAM into my computer. I went from 128MB to1GB. All by myself. Crazy.
Share on FacebookThis week’s free will horoscope by Rob Brezny for the Aquarius:
My brother Tom is a real estate agent. Lately he’s been noticing that a lot of people are suffering from what he calls IDD–Intention Deficit Disorder. They act as if they really want to buy or sell a house, but then never get past the first few fledgling steps toward that end. Their good intentions get derailed by modest challenges. I want to make sure that you Aquarians don’t develop a case of IDD in the coming weeks. The astrological omens suggest that you could fall prey to wandering around aimlessly unless you add a large dose of steel to your will.
To become a master of desire, keep talking yourself out of being attached to trivial goals and keep talking yourself into being thrilled about the precious few goals that are really important. Here’s another way to say it: Wean yourself from ego-driven desires and pour your libido into a longing for beauty, truth, goodness, justice, integrity, creativity, love, and an intimate relationship with the Wild Divine.
IDD is the reason I bought my planner. I have found, particularly as of late, that I tend to get easily derailed by small obstacles. And then there is abandonment. So with the making of my goals and doing all that I can to reach them, I hope that I can avoid, or at least hurdle this derailment. Consider my planner my steel support. (Ummm… yeah… I admit that I love my planner. I never said I was normal.)
As far as the rest… I can’t categorize getting my Ph.D. as an ego-driven desire or a longing for truth, goodness, or any of that other crap. I can say that I have been thinking about taking business classes so that I can get a handle on what it will take to start my own company making things like soap and jewelry (or any of the million other things that I like making). And maybe I will figure out what I want to do with my Ph.D., but I am not holding my breath on that one.
Share on FacebookWent off without a hitch. Look at how nice the tables looked. Yes, it took me over 30 minutes to decide on how to arrange the tables. Porter’s mom and Porter made the mini flower arrangements. Porter’s aunt helped with the table setting… I think that it looked great.
And the cupcakes. The flowers were all Porter’s idea. She did a really good job decorating them. I didn’t get a chance to eat one, but it looked like everyone liked them. =)
I think Porter and I should do this professionally. You know, after the wedding and graduating and whatever else takes precedent at the moment. My only beef was that everyone kept telling me what a wonderful job I did, but really Porter rented the stuff, she went grocery shopping, and I had lots of help setting up and preparing food. But no matter how hard I tried to convince people that I had lots of good help, they never really acknowledged it.
Share on FacebookMy new Franklin Covey day planner, nay, my life planner. Isn’t she beautiful? She will make me more productive, right? As long as I don’t have to put “personal internet use” next to every hour of my workday!
I picked the Frommers daily pages for my planner, because, you know, I like nothing more than to dream about places I want to visit while planning my day. It also came with cool trip planning pages, which I think will be useful because I am always traveling. It might cut down on the list-making. And all of my vital information will be in one place. (This is, of course, if everything goes as planned and I use this thing diligently.)
p.s. I don’t want my spectrometric identification of organic compounds book to feel left out, so I also introduce my spectrometric identification of organic compounds book to you as well.
