weird dream #2

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

So I have only had a few weird dreams, but most of them have occured this past year or so. It is also very rare that I dream in color. Last night not only did I dream in color, but I also woke myself swinging my arms frantically. What follows is one of the weirdest dreams to date. Any feedback on what it might mean would be great.

Section 1
I was standing with some guy next to a pile of dirt. He points out that there is a one-horned toad. The toad is this amazing purple color with a green unicorn horn. The guy begins to explain that the toad is a very rare species and he hasn’t seen one in years. The toad just sits there and lets us look at it. Then I look near my feet and I see a smaller adolescent version of the toad. I point it out to the toad expert. He comes over and begins to look at it and continues to explain the species. While he continues, I walk over to the mound of dirt. I find a small baby one-horned toad - smaller than the other two. As I am getting ready to point the baby toad out, what looks like a worm begins to make it’s way out of the dirt. The dirt is seperating…but it looks as though something bigger will come out of the dirt rather than a worm. What emerges is a two-year old little boy. As soon as the boy emerges, a woman comes running out of nowhere to claim him. The toad expert begins to yell at the woman saying things like, “you can’t keep him in there that long, you need to take him out before two years, what is wrong with you?”

Section 2
I am climbing stairs to a dam. It is a very intricate set of stairs, specifically designed to make you stop at each landing and admire the landscape. The water is a very dark blue, the trees a very bright contrasting green. The color is very vibrant. At the top of the stairs is a small studio apartment. The framing of the apartment is an old cedar - very rustic - completely opposite of the very modern architecture of the dam. I am visiting friends who live there - a couple. I am standing on their balcony with the male. We are overlooking their run-down pool. Inside the crystal cool water of the pool there are fish - large fish. There is even a shark. I notice a baby turtle on its back at the bottom of the pool, struggling to turn himself over. The mother turtle is just standing there - with this helpless cartoon look on her face. The mother looks up at us. I tell my friend that we should go down and help the turtle. As soon as the words begin to leave my mouth this odd looking (large) bird swoops down at my face.

This is when I wake up with my arms swinging frantically to shoo the bird.

real deal

I have always flirted with the illusion of love rather than experiencing the real thing. I have finally found the real thing.

Our New Couches.

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

They were delivered on Wednesday. I really like them. They are comfy and wonderful. The only problem is now we have to get a new TV stand so that our TV sits higher. But I think that can wait for a little while. We still have a guest room, but now if we have more than one houseguest, someone has to sleep on the couch and not a futon.

Also, the pictures of the things on the wall are what Winemonkey and I got each other for Valentine’s Day. He filled the one frame with pictures and I framed the drawing of him.

The fab weekend.

My trip to Sacramento was only missing one piece… Lisa was out of town with her main squeeze.

With that exception, it was the most perfect weekend I have had in a long time. Little Miss M (Miss P’s daughter) was a little grumpy, but amazingly cute bundle of joy. We all laid around until 1 in the afternoon on Saturday just playing with her and interacting. Miss P and I got a lot of talking in. It seems like it had been a long time since we had soul-searching conversations. As if that wouldn’t make the day perfect, we went tea shopping where I bought some of the most delicous tea ever. Then we went to the yarn store, where I got this cute little pattern and some yarn. I am still working on getting the pattern down right, but I really love felting. We then went to our most favorite guilty pleasure when it comes to food: JimBoy’s Tacos (if you click to get nutritional information, please don’t share with me).

We went back to the house and started our crafts, went to Mongolian BBBBBQ for dinner and then watched movies. The next morning we went to the farmer’s market and then to breakfast at the Tower Cafe. If you are in the area and haven’t been there… GO! They have the best french toast and the best desserts. It used to be one of my favorite places to go late night with friends.

On Monday, when I got home, Winemonkey and I went to find a couch. And what we found was a couch, loveseat, chair, and ottoman. It will be delivered today. We are pretty excited to be able to watch hours of TV without our butts going numb. Or, you know, just being comfortable in our own home. Speaking of home… I have to get pictures together of our Valentine’s Day gifts. They were really awesome this year and had soemthing to do with making this house feel more like a home.
