family ties

Meeting your significant other’s family for the first time is always hard. Meeting your significant other’s family when they don’t really speak english for the first time is even harder. This weekend I spent my time trying not to be overly nervous.

Friday evening Lam and I went to a concert in San Francisco - Camera Obscura. The concert was fabulous - the people at the concert - not so much. I realized that I am too old for those sorts of things. I no longer need to be in the middle of the experience - I would rather watch from a distance.

After the concert we headed to his parent’s house in San Jose. We didnt arrive there until 3 in the morning, but his parents were waiting up for us. Quick hellos and then off to bed. Saturday was spent napping, taking the dogs to the park, and then going to Lam’s Uncle’s house for a Chinese New Year celebration. What this consisted of: watching a Vietnamese movie - in Vietnamese, eating gizzards and bamboo, giving and receiving Red Envelopes, fireworks, and playing Bingo. I had so much fun.

Sunday we headed back to Sacramento. There were a few moments of potential fighting - but to my surprise the two of us realize that some things just aren’t worth fighting over. In any other relationship I would not pick my fights wisely - I would just fight about everything. Everything about this relationship just feels differently.

We have talked about moving in together and getting married someday. We spend nearly everyday together and everytime I am not around him I am thinking about him. I am really looking forward to living with him for so many reasons.

Is anyone else this obsessed about the “Miniature Serial Killer” on CSI: Las Vegas? Because I seriously am addicted to the story.

And Lost? Holy Crap!

And the Office? What did Jim say? “I am feeling kind of tingly, but strangely powerful.”

You Suck: A Love Story & Quantitative Chemical Analysis

Guess which one is for enjoyment?

Kell-Bell got the Christopher Moore book signed before she sent it to me for my birthday. How awesome is that?!?!
