Easter Sunday

After spending the morning with Lisa, we went over to our friends’ house for an early dinner. Their little one wanted us to hide her little plastic eggs for a hunt. It was super cute.

And dinner? Was awesome. Everyone made something to go along. Winemonkey made scalloped potatoes and I made chocolate cupcakes with a white frosting center. There were lots of other great things there too. All in all it was a nice day.

Now Winemonkey and I are getting ready to go on a little camping trip… Good times. Fun times.

muscles should not hurt this much

At least not this soon after a workout. This morning was my first morning session of cardio and weight training. I woke up at 5 am – yes you read that correctly: 5 am – to start my day of exercise and torture.

When I first got to the gym it took about five minutes of cardio to get myself motivated and excited about being there, but I have to say that after the first five minutes were over, I was ready. I met with my trainer after doing my cardio and started my weight training portion of the routine. Holy crap my arms and abs are sore right now. I can almost not lift my arms up passed my shoulders. I then sat in the sauna for about ten minutes.

All in all I would have to say that working out in the morning has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that I get it over with in the morning, the disadvantage is that I have to do it in the morning – which means I have to get ready for the work day at the gym.

I will probably stick with the evenings during the week, except for Tuesdays. Tuesdays I will save for the mornings and to meet with my trainer.

I am excited to be taking on this new challenge. I know I can make my body look the way I want it to and I know I can be healthy. It is just putting my mind to it and following through with it that is the difficult part. But I am on my way.
