Lately the job has been tolerable. The low checking account not so much. I have been fighting to be bumped up a level in the pay scale at work. It will be well worth the effort if it works. It would mean a substantial increase in my monthly pay. You know, putting me in the pay range a PhD deserves.

I know that I shouldn’t feel entitled to things because I am a doctor. But when you work hard and you are right for the job AND you have a doctorate, they should compensate you right. What doesn’t make any sense is that if they always offer people low salaries, they aren’t ever going to get the cream of the crop. So does that mean I am not the cream of the crop?!?

Really, what I want is a job in Santa Rosa. I want to break free of Sacramento.

I’m on vacation with my dad. He doesn’t let me use the computer so I am just laying around an awful lot and lazing around the winery. This dog’s life is hard.

In case you didn’t notice. It is summer here. You can tell because it is in the triple digits and the smoke from a million forest fires is wallowing in the valley. You can also tell because I have been playing hookie from my bloggie.

It isn’t that things aren’t happening. I just don’t feel like writing about it. That is the beauty of my blog. If I want to neglect it, I can. Truth be told, I haven’t been inspired to post. Maybe I will be back in a little while.

I wish I could say that my trip to Southern California was for fun. It would be great to see my cousin Critter and my friend Mike. But alas, it is a quick trip there and a quick trip back. All in one day.

p.s. iPhone 3G? I don’t know that I could be more excited.
