Update

Cabin weekend: awesome.
Crafts completed: three.
Anxiety over move: maximum.

Why am I crippled with it? I don’t know. But I wish it hadn’t taken so long to manifest so I could have worked it out before now. Just two more days of staring at stacks of crap.

SCREEN PRINTING! VACATION!

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Two separate things to be excited about. Not one giant pile of excitement. Although we have considered taking the screen printing to the cabin. (The concept is blowing my mind!)

That’s right. The cabin. So I believe there have been several posts about the cabin on this website, I just don’t have the drive to find them (because why didn’t I make a category devoted to the temple of chill? Why did I not start utilizing tags as soon as it was available so that I could tag all posts related to the cabin as “f*ing awesome relaxing vacay”?!?)

Anyway. Here is a weekend at the cabin:
Friday afternoon: Pack up car.
Friday evening: Grocery shop in nearby town. Eat cheap dinner.
Friday night: Unpack. Eat. Drink. Sleep.
Saturday: Eat. Drink. Sleep.
Sunday: Eat. Clean up. Wish you never had to leave.

Sure there are variations. Sometimes we go to the beach. Sometimes we build puzzles. But the mellow permeates you. And that is what makes the cabin the cabin.

So after the last two weeks where my mind won’t stop running like a Kenyan in the New York marathon, I am looking forward to decompressing. If you need me, I will be soaking in the old school bathtub with a glass of champagne.

But screen printing! You want to know. Well let me tell you. Last week, on Friday, Porter, Alicia and I set out on mission. Mission: Screen Print. Alicia and Porter gathered the supplies while I watched helplessly because I was drowning hopelessly in a sea of thought and crap in my apartment (moving! Oh yeah. There is another post in the making). Friday was mostly experiment. And we figured stuff out. (I think it is going to be a post on its own… lots of information.) So when we regrouped last night, we were just doing it and doing it and doing it well. Seriously. We have about 6 screens with images on them. We now have to work on the paint application and cleaning of the screens.

Apparently I have a million more updates coming down the pipeline. Can you wait for it?
