To Love, Part 2

Today a friend passed. Eric has known this family for much much longer than I have. I know that this is hard for him. He loved Mr. D.

And because Eric loved him, I too loved him. He was a part of Eric’s life when Eric was growing up. Eric is the man I love partially because of Mr. D’s influence.

So this loss is duly sad. Because I am not there to be with Eric and because I feel like there is so much more to share with Mr. D and his family.

To love a friend. A man who was somewhat a stranger to me, but who was loved by so many people around me. To love a man who wouldn’t have remained a stranger if there had been one more dinner or one more karaoke night.

Mr. D – I hope you have peace. And may you grow more familiar to me through the memories of your friends and family.

Praying or Preying

I can’t remember which version goes in front of mantis, but I did have one on my car. As soon as I noticed, I pulled over, took a picture, then gently moved it off my car. I wouldn’t think I would EVER see one of those in the city.

Things I Use My Letter Opener For.

  1. Back scratcher.
  2. To poke holes in my coffee cup lids to get better flow.
  3. To clean out the crumbs between where my two desks come together.
  4. To point to things.

Please note, opening letters is not on the list. I have received ONE letter at my job since I started. I have worked here for almost 2 years.

Warm puppy =

When your sweet little dog is curled up next to you, keeping you warm, it is hard to get yourself up and into the shower. FYI.

When I grow up…

… I want to have a sweet pumpkin patch. And by sweet, I mean totally cool. And also sweet as in the kind of pumpkins you make pie with. Although I don’t know a whole lot about pumpkin varieties, so maybe I could really make pie out of any type of pumpkin. But I can tell you about the variety of pumpkin below:

They are sweet pumpkins destined for a risotto and quite possibly a loaf of quick bread. Let’s see how far they get me.
