When I grow up…

… I want to be excited about my job more often than not.

Window Seat

I am kind of wishing I had a window seat for the rain today. I am also hoping that although the window repair isn’t perfect and I have to take it in to be fixed, that it is still rain-proof. I don’t want to go swimming in my car after work.

Vandals

It just dawned on me that I think the a-holes that busted out my car window did steal something. Was it the $20 I had in the glovebox? No. Was it my expensive bluetooth thingie? No. It wasn’t even my library book! I think the stole my favorite canvas bag (yes I have a favorite) that had scrap pieces of fabric and some fusible interfacing.

That’s right. Apparently my car was broken into by one crafty son of a bitch. Crafty in both the Beastie Boys sort of way AND more.

Dreamin’

Do you think that if you wish and dream about something enough, it will happen?

A week’s worth of ideas

I know that this is going to be a good week. I have plans to see both Alicia AND Porter.

I also have a letter to get into the mail.
And an application to get out the door.
And “Save the Dates” to mail.
And a mailing list to generate for the “Save the Dates”.
And I really wanted to make some prototype flowers this week.
And Jess and I are going to the city on Friday.
And… and… and…

This week isn’t going to be long enough for me, is it?

Plus, what comfort dish am I going to exploit in order to get the boys through their last few weeks of harvest? And when am I going to start working on Christmas presents?

To Love

When you are asked to write a letter of recommendation for a friend, you write nice things. When you write a letter of recommendation for friends who are seeking to adopt a child, you write a love letter. Or at least that is what I think you write.

But have you ever tried to articulate why you love the people you love? What makes them so absolutely wonderful that you find yourself hanging out with them, enjoying their company, year after year after year? And most importantly, have you ever told them?

This letter was no small feat. It took a week to write, including the heavy editing so as to make it sound a little less sappy. But you know, it is still pretty sappy. And this letter, didn’t even touch the tip of the iceberg.

I hope that it serves its purpose and the two of them are given the opportunity to show another human being their joys, love and devotion.
